USC Cinema holds Presscon, 4/26

The University of San Carlos College of Architecture and Fine Arts (USC CAFA) is hosting a press conference on its upcoming MASTER OF ARTS IN CINEMA STUDIES PROGRAM this April 26, Thursday at 2 PM at the USC-CAFA Theater, USC Talamban campus.

The Master of Arts in Cinema Studies will be offered this June 2012, this coming semester.

Coppola in SineKultura, 6/20 to 6/24

The University of San Carlos CAFA Theater-SineKultura, the venue for cinema studies and appreciation, presents “Focus on Francis Ford Coppola”.

This week, three films will be screened for free to highlight the works and storytelling of influential filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola.

Screenings are this June 20, June 22, and June 24 and begin at 530 P.M.

Filmmakers, Film lovers and Film students are invited to the USC-CAFA Theater, Talamban, Cebu City.

SineBuano @Tioseco-Bohinc Film Library

Last Thursday, May 27, I visited a veritable one-of-a-kind place in Cebu: The Tioseco-Bohinc Film Archive.

Set-up by friends in Cebu’s Independent Filmmaking Scene, the film archive serves as a library of world cinema with a private collection of over 2000 films.

The purpose of the archive is to be the venue for cinephiles and students to experience an adventure in appreciation,  serious study and pure education of world cinema.
