The Bahala na Film Collective, with the Tioseco-Bohinc Film Archive, celebrates the fiesta of Barangay Tungkil, Minglanilla, Cebu with a special screening of the Hollywood classic MODERN TIMES this May 11, 2011/ 6:30 PM.
The fiesta screening will also be the world premiere of Cebuano filmmaker Cierlito Tabay’s short, “Tinindogan.”

The 15th Cebu Business Month (CBM) is officially launced by the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) for the entire month of June 2011, with a commitment to help business players from Cebu, and neighboring cities in provinces of the Philippines, effectively take advantage the world business arena… “Going Beyond Boundaries.”
The CBM 2011, with its Expo, will serve as the meeting place of all industry players where in tourism, BPO/ICT or MSMEs. It will feature a job fair—open to all jobseekers, and a varied showcase of companies and organizations providing products, services, among others.
Run for a good cause. The first Support for Run U.P high is set at he University of the Philippines Visayas-Cebu College grounds in Brgy. Lahug, Cebu city this 1 May 2011.
Proceeds from the run will benefit for the scholarship program of the U.P. Cebu High School Alumni Association, Inc. as well as for the professional development of deserving faculty members.
The route involves an uphill climb around Marco Polo Hotel in Nivel Hills, thus, adding up challenge for the participants.
The event features the 3K, 6K and 12K categories. The 3K will have an individual and a barkada run, in which a group of four runners will be tied together while running the race similar to London’s caterpillar run. (see photo here)
Registration fee is pegged at PhP200 for the 3K, PhP250 for the 6K and PhP300 for the 12K. Entry forms are available at the UP High School Cebu and at Runnr in Ayala Center Cebu.
Onsite registration will be accepted but the singlets are available only for the first 1,000 registrants.
The run is present by Smart Communications, M. Lhuillier, Timex, Waterfront Hotels, Simple Likes, Julie’s Bakeshop, iStore, Kinvara, and esteemed U.P alumni, like Rep. Pablo John Garcia of the 3rd District of Cebu Province is one of the major sponsors and are recruiting participants to the event.
