SineBuano Sunday, 9/20
by SineBuano ~ September 21st, 2009. Filed under: SineBuano Articles.Kukuk’s Nest, Cebu City is a haven for the Island’s independent spirit for Arts and Culture. And for this SineBuano Sunday’s activities, there can be no finer scene to be at…
SineBuano makes every afternoon meeting fun with a spontaneous shoot. Usually comedic sketches in Bisaya/Cebuano, this builds up camaraderie between the members as well as an effective exercise for heart, body and mind.
In this scene, a newcomer experiences his initiation in front of the camera. Every SineBuano member has, at one time or another, experienced screen time as an actor.
This manner of initiation only tests newcomers’ open mind and open heart to the spontaneity that’s a trademark of SineBuano’s activities. Who said filmmaking can’t be all fun and games?
And what afternoon activity at Kukuk’s Nest could be considered complete without the special participation of its owner, the lovely Bambi Beltran?
Bambi Beltran has been a stalwart support as well as active participant to Cebu’s Independent Filmmaking Scene.
Her actions and contributions have been substantial to letting the Philippines know that the indie movement here exist and is emerging.
