SineBuano Sunday 6/28 – Sweet Earth Sketches

Overcast cast ominous with rain failed to dampen the independent filmmaking spirit as SineBuano takes alternative measures to make the most of last Sunday.
An exterior shoot at Bonbon, Busay was scheduled for last Sunday, June 28, 2009 for the Sweet Earth Project. However the weather proved unfriendly and SineBuano producer Gerard Lopez advised that it’s best to postpone the shoot to fairer days for the safety of the cast and crew.
SineBuano deliberated an alternative plan to continue the Sweet Earth Project through the production of three comedy sketches set in an interior location.
This is in order to familiarize the cast with the workings of an actual shoot while polishing the skills of the crew who, like anyone cooped inside all-week-long due to rain, were starting to feel rusty.
For these sketches, the actors were informed on set by the director that they’ll be working without a script, all impromptu.
Among the many challenges of fledgeling actors is to be comfortable with the presence of the camera as well as to think fast and act on it.
The actors, though with room for improvement, show great promise.
The crew had to contest of handling equipment at close quarters but better that than being out in the rain.
Even if it’s cloudy outside, everyone was beaming out a sunny disposition inside during the sketch.
SineBuano still aims to push for the actual shoot in Bonbon, Busay on a future date when the sun is out and the skies are bright-blue. In the meantime, the cast and crew will continue developing skills and rapport.
