SineBuano Saturday 10/24
by SineBuano ~ October 30th, 2009. Filed under: SineBuano Guides.Filmmaking sometimes require specialized equipment such as boom poles and tripods, equipment that would usually costs several hundred dollars (or tens of thousands of pesos) to purchase for use.
But for independent filmmakers, sometimes resourcefulness, mechanical skills and DIY (do-it-yourself) ingenuity can compensate for cash and bring about equipment that can work just as effective as the genuine articles.
Last Saturday, October 24, SineBuano assembled and tested two new additions to their indie filmmaking arsenal– a camera crane and a camera dolly.
A camera dolly is a wheeled platform that allows for smooth camera movement in a scene that requires motion.
The Camera dolly was built from plyboard, angle bars and wheelers with PVC piping to serve as rails.
A Camera crane allows the camera to vertically up and down, horizontally left to right at a certain height or depth. Using aluminum and metal channels to make up its arm structure, a spare tripod as its base, a 15 foot camera crane was produced.
There are plenty of helpful guides and instructions available in the Internet to create these DIY projects. It’s a fun learning experience and activity to build and test these equipment.

i have never seen how a film is made, though i sort of know (as how a former special someone who’s in the field of videography in their big city told me) that it’s not a piece of cake. but i wonder if are there any local tv shows (not in cable channels) that features what and how cebu is. i happen to know this independent film and tv production in davao who does that. how about us here?
