Reasons why one should get MY KUYA’S WEDDING
Uhm, for the guys pretty and perky Maja Salvador? Svelte and sweet Pauleen Luna? The ladies can swoon for cute dudes Ryan Agoncillo and Jasaon Abalos… Need we say more?
Though the story premise of a young woman with a major, obsessive “kuya” complex may be difficult to get, the film’s technical aspects has an indie film sensibility to it that worth watching and studying.
Maja Salvador… I know, I know she’s already been cited in the first reason but her performance in this film has a pure natural energy that deserves a second recommendation as reason to watch this film.
Though Pauleen Luna is supposed to play an older woman whose fiancee to Maja Salvador’s big brother Ryan Agoncillo, she’s actually a month younger than Maja Salvador. Pauleen’s birthday is on November 10, 1988 while Maja’s is on October 5, 1988.
This film was to be originally casted by Dingdong Dantes, Iza Calzado, Mark Herras and Jennylyn Mercado under the direction of Joel Lamangan but they were casted first in the film bomb Eternity. The project was shelved until a new cast was formed.
Maja Salvador sings the theme song for the film, “Tulad ng Dati” (Like Before)
