“The best of all gifts around any Christmas tree:
the presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other.”
— William E. Vaughan, American author and columnist.
The SineBuano family celebrated the spirit of Christmas last Saturday re-bonding with good friends in hope for great times in the coming year of 2011.
More flashbacks after the jump.
SineBuano brought group members, particularly those who haven’t yet visited, to the Tioseco_Bohinc Film archive to know about this one-of-a-kind place for film studies and education in Cebu.
The film archive is a shrine to the visual, multi-disciplinary art and craft of filmmaking. Here, inspiration and direction can be received.
Everyone was delighted with the unique collection of film materials, over 2000 DVDs, that are available in the archive for study and motivation.
Later on, everyone snacked and chatted with our friends of the Archive.
The Archive’s founder and curator, Misha, shared some good news regarding the development of a film course in a local major university in Cebu. More news on this matter as it develops.
After the visit to the Film Archive, SineBuano headed over to dinner at Kukuk’s North, the latest addition to the Nest family of Kukuk’s Nest and Turtles’ Nest. Located in Talamban, Kukuk’s North promises the same cozy ambiance that promotes the spirit of Art and culture.
The place is also home to the DIWATA GALERI where is recently showing the creative works of world-renowned Bacolod artist, Nunelacio Alverado.
Two lovely ladies of SineBuano, actor Jen with actor/author/artist Bambi who also served as host to the SineBuano party at Kukuk’s North.
The event was made even more memorable, thanks to the Christmas giveaways provided by SineBuano technical directors, Jomark and Doreen Maloloy-on.
Christmas is the time of renewed hope. It is good to be reminded of it and to have, hold and honor the very spirit of this season throughout the days of the coming year and beyond.
From all of SineBuano, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Maayong pasko ug Malipayong Bag-ong Tuig!
