SineBuano highly recommends ESKRIMADORS, an independently produced martial arts documentary from Cebu-based film outfit POINTSOURCE FILMS.

The film is an open window into the world of ESKRIMA, a martial art considered as Cebu’s cultural treasure with techniques that are renowed worldwide for speed, power and practicality. Both entertaining and enlightening, it is a documentary that is a must-see for action-loving audiences, home and abroad!

The cinematic child of the creative team of director KERWIN GO (“Disarmed, “Project Fear”), cinematographer RUEL ANTIPUESTO (“Confessional”, “Sabungero”) and producer JIJI BORLASA (“Confessional”), ESKRIMADORS gives more than just ordinary visual documentation.

A special screening for press and colleagues was held at the University of San Carlos – College of Architecture and Fine Arts, Talamban-Cebu City.

Cinematography and action, awesome. Storyline and Direction, awesome. Production value, awesome. Overall, AAAHHH [pause for breath] SOOOOM!

From Ruel, I learned that this 64-minute (approx.) film took a little more than two months of shooting with more than a year post-production. After seeing the end result, I say with all admiration– it is time well-spent!
