Red Horse Muziklaban 2009 invites all filmmakers, both pro and amateur, to take part in the upcoming indie film challenge! Tell the story of the Happy Horse!

THE CHALLENGE

Gumawa nang sariling version tungkol sa pinagmulan ng Happy Horse.

THEME CONTENT:
The legend of the Happy Horse)

“The Happy Horse, bottles of Red Horse Beer allegedly featuring a smiling horse icon, has long been rumored in existence. No one knows for sure what they do or where they came from.”

ABOUT THE CONTEST
- Entrants will come up with their own version of “Ang Pinagmulan Ng Happy Horse”.
- Entries can be Short Feature, Animation, Mock – Documentary or Documentary ,Music Video or combination of all formats.
- Contest is open to all Filipino 18 yrs old & above
- Contest will have 2 categories (Novice and open category)
- Entrants can join one or more categories and may submit as many entries for each category.
- Use of digital cameras and cellular phone are allowed.
- Total running time should be 1 – 5 minutes in length.
- San Miguel Brewery will retain ownership of all copies submitted. These entries will also be considered San Miguel Brewery’s property once submitted.
- San Miguel Brewery will also have the right to use the entry (s) for vehicles/promotion as San Miguel Brewery, Inc. sees fit.
- San Miguel Brewery, Inc. assumes that all entries submitted are original works and are developed solely for this challenge.

MODE OF SUBMISSION
- Short Film Entry should be in DVD FORMAT (3 copies) or in data format (.avi or .mov)
- Entrant(s) should submit their Entry together with the following requirements :

1. 30 pcs of RED HORSE crowns
2. Registration Form
3. Xerox Copy of a valid ID (SSS, Drivers License,etc.)

JUDGING MECHANICS

FOR OPEN CATEGORY

- 10 finalists will be selected by a judging panel of industry professionals. All entries are judged equally based on the following areas:

1. Originality of the content based on the theme : 40%
2. Production Quality: 40%
3. CROWN votes (1 Red Horse Beer crown = 1pt, ticket from viewing party = 20 votes/each): 20%

FOR NOVICE CATEGORY
- 3 finalists will be selected by a judging panel of industry professionals. All entries are judged equally based on theff areas: (80%)

1. Originality of the content based on the theme : 50%
2. Production Quality: 30%
3. CROWN votes (1 Red Horse Beer crown = 1pt, ticket from viewing party = 20 votes/each): 20%

DEADLINE OF ENTRIES

Open Category : On July 19, 2009
Novice : September 1, 2009

PRIZES

Open Category : PRODUCTION CONTRACT WITH SAN MIGUEL BREWERY, INC. and a cash prize.
Novice : Cash Prize and gifts from sponsors.

Winners will be awarded at the Grand Finals of Muziklaban Rock Challenge on November 2009.
SCREENING & VIEWING PARTY OF THE ENTRIES

- Finalists for the Open category will be announced on July 31, 2009 at the kick off “VIEWING PARTY” at CubaoX. And the 3 finalists for the novice category will be announced on September 18, 2009.

RED HORSE and BLUEFISH ASIA will throw a VIEWING PARTY for the FINALISTS at the following venues :

3. Club Dredd – September 18, 2009
4. 6UG – October 2, 2009
5. Magnet High Street – October 23, 2009

VOTING PERIOD

FOR THE OPEN CATEGORY
Voting period is from July 31 – November 8, 2009.

FOR THE NOVICE ENTRIES
Voting period is only from September 18 – November 8, 2009.

MECHANICS AND POINT SYSTEM
- 1 Red Horse Beer crown = 1 vote
- 1 ticket at the viewing party = 20votes

Drop boxes are available on all participating trade outlets, bars, San Miguel Brewery offices and at Bluefish Asia office.

Voter should enclose a minimum of 5 crowns on the envelope with the following data :

The more vote entries people and viewers will send the more chances of winning the following prizes :
- free tickets at Muziklaban Rock Challenge

- Getaway package trip for a barkada of 5
- Gadgets (i-pod, cell phones, laptap , digital camera, PSP, etc.)

Raffle draw is on November 11, 2009 at the San Miguel Brewery Office.
