Celebrate World Music Day 2011, Fête de la Musique, at the Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu, Philippines this June 18, Saturday.
FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!
The Fête de la Musique (Facebook Page), also known as World Music Day, is an all-night music festival celebrated annually on the eve of the Summer Solstice (June 21). It was first celebrated in 1982 and is now celebrated in over 30 countries including the Philippines.
The slogan “Faites de la musique” (Make music), a homophone of Fête de la Musique.
The Fête de la Musique promotes music by encouraging amateur and professional musicians to perform in open, public venues and that these musicians must perform for free and accessible to the appreciation of the general public. These are the two main caveats to being sanctioned by the official Fête de la Musique organization in Paris.
At Ayala Center Cebu this Saturday, concerts will appear on multiple times and stages, starting first at 1:00 pm at Level 1 in front of Beauty Bar, then at 2:00 pm across Oh Georg cafe.
Music at Activity Center Stage fires up at 3:00 pm, and by 5:30pm, the grand finale takes place at The Terraces, where home-grown musicians in Cebu share their songs and music until midnight.
Fête de la Musique guarantees to offer music lovers of all ages and preferences one day to truly enjoy a universe of sounds and rhythms.
Experience smashing Southside music from “Womb Muzik”, “Happy Days” and “Bambu Spliff”, fresh talents “Undercover Grasshoppers”, “Wonggoys”, and “Carlo Pez”, “SUCH” from Iligan, and American pop music producer Ben Patton.
