The Andalucia Galleon, an actual, sea-worthy replica of the naval vessels used by the Spanish empire for global trade in the height of the 16th to 17th century, is scheduled to dock Cebu this Wednesday, October 13 at Pier 1 near the Malacañang sa Sugbo.
The galleon serves as a floating museum of life and work at sea for sailors of the period. The ship will stay in Cebu for four to five days.
The vessel will be reserved for meetings with local officials on the first day of its visit, October 13th, and will be open to the public beginning October 14th. The galleon is open from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. A two-hour traditional siesta will be observed and visiting hours will resume at 4 p.m. and end at 8 p.m.
A waiting area for visitors will be set up near the docks since the galleon could only allow 25 visitors aboard at a time.
