Last January 23, SineBuano attended an “Actors-in-Action” screening at the Tioseco-Bohinc Film Archive, selected actors whose body of work and performances were considered to be iconic. The purpose of the screening was to study the visual craft of acting as it was applied by these actors. More information and insights to follow.

Bathalad Sugbu, an organization of writers dedicated to Cebuano-Visayan literature, will host a series of lectures this 29 January 2011 at Cebu Normal University. The Animation Council of the Philippines, Inc. (ACPI) is calling all budding and professional animators from across the country to participate and submit their animated works to Animahenasyon 2011: 5th Philippine Animation Festival. The deadline for submission of entries is on September 15, 2011.

The Tioseco-Bohinc Film Archive will feature a free screening of what has been hailed as one of the greatest films of all time: Jean Vigo’s “L’ATALANTE” (1934, 89 minutes, France) The film details the troublesome honeymoon of a young, jealous barge captain and his pretty bride.
